Situated on the northern tip of the Adriatic Coast near to the Italian border (5 km) and the town of Trieste, JORK is the first and only purpose-built residential Recording Studio in our country.
The studio is run by a small team of dedicated professionals who really care about their guests. 24-hour care by two full-time maintenance staff is included. Our business philosophy is to offer excellent value for money coupled with technical standards, all within a friendly atmosphere. Our reputation for having a "clean" recorded sound, monitoring accuracy along with superb acoustics designed by Andy Munro, one of the leading studio designers in Europe, gives us the upper hand and the wining position. Our large bright control room (9x7 meters) built around the main monitors has been constructed on the LEDE principle with plenty of space to move around, this kind of facility is perfectly suited for live work. Tape machines and similar noisy equipment are housed in a separate machine room. The rear control room area provides space and comfort to accommodate the largest keyboard set-ups with accurate monitoring in every position, which is a must in modern recording. There is also space for up to 8 persons sitting at the rear end of the control room. The engineers and producers are in visual contact with all recording areas through the huge triple-glazed studio window. Three sides of the studio are open to daylight whilst being totally isolated from any outside environment. All rooms are fully air-conditioned. The recording area consists of one large room plus four isolation booths, featuring differing acoustics and bright "clean" sound. The main studio has a variable acoustic with live feel and can comfortably accommodate 30 musicians. The isolation booths are from fully live (Booth 1), thru semi-live stone room (Booth 2), to totally dead (Booth 3 and voice-over), to cover the largest range of different acoustics. We offer the best sounding rooms in the country. As a residential studio we offer an arranged accommodation on the upper floor of the studio for up to 8 persons with 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms. Restaurants and pubs are very close to the studio grounds.
